Erika Berglund, SHRM-SCP, MEd

Erika Berglund, the Founder and Principal of Performance by Design, is a visionary leader with a rich and diverse background in shaping organizational excellence. Erika's business career began with a passion for learning and development. As global Sales Development Manager with Learning Tree International and Director of Training and Development with CalFirst Bancorp, she leveraged her expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles to create highly effective training and instructional materials tailored for business needs.  

As a Manager with Arthur Andersen, LLP’s Human Capital Practice and as Vice President for Pearl Meyer & Partners’ compensation and healthcare practices, she led the design and implementation of human capital and change management strategies, employee, executive, and board compensation programs, and organizational effectiveness solutions across a range of industries.

As Vice President of Human Resources, Americas for Oberthur Technologies (now IDEMIA)  and as Chief Human Resources Officer for Vanguard Logistics, Erika crafted impactful HR strategies and people programs that transcended geographical boundaries, skillfully navigating the intricate intersections of business, people, and culture on a global scale. Erika’s success in building an exceptional employee experience, combined with her grasp of finance and business strategy, has made her a valued advisor to leaders, and a trusted advocate for employees.

Education

Erika has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA and a Master of Education degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA.

Erika is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional and a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Specialist through the Academy to Innovate HR.
